Winter Camps Ages 8-12

Offense/Defense

Camps Focus:

Offense - Fundamentals of bunting, slapping, hitting and baserunning, along with drills that emphasize these skills.
Defense/Infield - Proper throwing mechanics, fielding fundamentals, base coverage, exchanges and live ground balls.
Defense/Outfield - Proper throwing mechanics, fielding fundamentals, crowhops, and live fly balls and ground balls. 

Offense Camp Ages:  8-12 Date:  2/06/10 Time:  9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Cost:  $60 before 1/30/10; $70 1/30/10 and after

Defense Camp Ages:  8-12 Date:  2/06/10 Time: 1:00-4:00 p.m. Cost: $60 before 1/30/10; $70 1/30/10 and after

Double-Play Special Both Camps Ages:  8-12 Date: 2/06/10 Time:  9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Cost:  $110 before 1/30/10; $120 1/30/10 and after

Register Early!  Due to limited enrollment, it is important you register early as sessions are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  A confirmation letter and "Release and Medical Authorization" form will be emailed to you upon receipt of your registration and payment.  If an email address is not provided, your confirmation letter and release form will be sent to you by mail.

Camp Objectives:  The University of Northern Iowa Softball Camps offer individual instruction for all athletes participating in camp.  The UNI staff will provide a strong emphasis on the fundamental skills used in the game of fastpitch.  Our goal is to have each athlete leave the camp with a better understanding of the game and fundamental skills necessary to improve the game.

Camp Equipment:  Athletes should wear comfortable clothes for the camp.  Athletes must provide their own glove and running shoes.  Catchers need to bring their own catching gear.  NOTE:  If you bring your own bat, please make sure you tape your name on it.
